Many people assume a lifestyle of compassion and justice is simply a cultural trend - becoming more "progressive", or even "woke". With all the demands on our time, energy and other resources, why should a follower of Jesus engage in growing in this way? And, of all the aspects of faith Jesus would want His followers to grow in, why is compassion and justice so important? Is it really necessary for Christians to live like this?
